Stephanie's Head Band

I have to wear this band because most of the time  I sleep on my right side and my head got a little bit flatten on that side so my doctor recommended the band. I thought that it will be worst but I look gorgeous, don't you think?

Tengo que usar este casco en mi cabecita porque la mayoria del tiempo duermo solo de mi lado derecho y me cabecita se me acható un poquito asi que mi doctor me recomendó usar este casco por un tiempo, yo pensé que iba a ser peor pero la verdad es que me veo hermosisima....no creen?

Our first trip to the Hair Salon

Like all women, we also needed to change our look, or at least that's what Mommy wanted and since we can not talk at this age (4 months) she took advantage of it and shaved our heads in order to grow more hair (urban legend)...just in case this is true, she did it.

Como toda mujer, nosotras tambien necesitamos un cambio de look, o por lo menos eso es lo que nuestra Mami quizo y como nosotras todavia no podemos hablar ya que solo tenemos 4 meses pues tomó ventaja de esto y nos pelonó para que nos salga mas cabello (segun dicen) por si acaso esto es cierto, ella lo hizo.

Twins Discharge / Alta de las Gemelas

Our pediatrician has signed the documents that allows us to be discharged from the Hospital... But we are still waiting to hear if Mommy would also be discharged as well. So that we all can go home together.

Nuestro pediatra firmo hoy los documentos que autorizan nuestra salida del hospital... Pero aun estamos esperando respuesta para ver si a Mama tambien la van a dar de alta el dia de hoy. Para podernos ir todas a casa juntas.

Car Seat Test / Prueba del porta Bebe

Today they asked to see the car seats that we'll be riding on our way home. But first the Hopspital has to run a safety check on them and make sure we fit in them. Believe it or not, the test for this item only takes 1.5 hours for each car set.

Crazy note: In the event we would not fit in the car seats the hospital will not allow our release!

Hoy pidieron que les trajeramos los porta Bebes que usaremos rumbo a la casa. Pero primero el hospital tiene que efectuar unas pruebas de seguridad en los mismos y asegurarse que nos queden bien. Lo crean o no, la prueba de los porta bebe toma 1.5 horas para cada uno. 

Nota rara: En el supuesto caso el cual no cupieramos en los porta bebes, el hospital no autorizaria nuestra salida.

Too many Exams / Muchos Examenes

Can you believe this? We are not even 1 week old and we have gone trough a whole bunch of tests!

The last one (up till this moment) was a Hearing Test which we both passed with flying colors.

Apenas se puede creer! Aun no cumplimos una semana de nacidas, y ya nos realizaron un monton de pruebas!

La ultima (hasta el momento) fue una Prueba Auditiva, la cual pasamos sin problema alguno.

Correo de la Tia Julieta

Felicidades a los Papas y  Bienvenidas las gemelas, ya vi las fotos se parecen al Papa, pero luego se componen,( no te creas Roberto) estan hermosas,que Dios se las bendiga y a mi me permita verlas cuando sean unas senoritas. Un beso de parte de su tia Julieta y en cuanto pueda voy a conocerlas.

Estos días son de alegría para todos aquellos que hemos tenido oportunidad de conocer un poco de su trayectoria para llegar aquí. Sus papás nos han compartido en un blog sus actividades y hemos podido ver que hoy es el gran día!!! Bienvenidas!!!
Sus papás son personas maravillosas, sí, aunque no lo crean ni sus propios amigos, pero esa es la verdad. Su mamá es una gran negociadora, inteligente, risueña, cariñosa, calculadora y llena de carisma, seguro que muchas de sus cualidades estarán con ustedes desde el momento que nazcan. Su papá es medio freak, pero aún así quieranlo mucho ya que es muy creativo, dedicado y al parecer tiene todavía ese don de ser curioso e indagar porque esto y porque lo otro. Aguas, que no las engañe el exterior, esta bien feo pero tiene un excelente gusto musical y estoy seguro que cada unidad de fuerza de sus brazos está dispuesta a cargarlas, levantarlas y abrazarlas de aquí a la eternidad.
Ojalá que un día pueda presentarles a Pamela, es mi hija, y que les puedo decir...está bien bonita y es bien inteligente, pues claro, tiene un papá (yo) que es bien nerd, pues tenía que pegársele algo, no? En fin, espero que un día puedan jugar con mi hija y que juntas se rían mucho de sus respectivos padres, la verdad tenemos varios detalles que las van a hacer reír bastante. No me creen? Ah, ustedes nomás espérense unos añitos.
Bueno, pues sólo me resta decirles que este amigo de su apá y su amá les envía un abrazo y los mejores deseos para que al llegar se encuentren con un mundo lleno de magia y retos sólo para ustedes.

El horizonte, queridas niñitas, no es su límite, es apenas el comienzo.

Don't over do it

Today they told Mommy to relax, but we think she is taking it to another level. Look at her doing what she likes the most... Laying down in bed and the Sun warming her body (and thankfully her belly too).

Mommy's C-Section is scheduled for Feb/03/2010 @ 12:15PM (Central Time) and the procedure should take about an hour to an hour and half.

New due date / Nueva fecha de nacimiento

Today we visited Dr. Z and she said that since Mommy has already started to dilate, and that at any point from now her water could break, and that would result in an rush into the E.R. So that the time has come!

The C-Section will take place on February 3rd 2010 for our well-being  and safety.

Hoy visitamos a la Dra Z y ella dijo que Mama ya esta dilatandose y que en cualquier momento se le puede romper la fuente, eso resultaria en una carrera a la sala de emergencias. Asi que llego la hora!

La cesarea tomara lugar el dia 3 de Febrero 2010 para nuestro bienestar y seguridad.

Who will be born first? / Quien nacera primero?

Today we received a very good comment from uncle Vic...

He asked... Who will be born first Sophia or Stephanie? (click here to see post)

Well... Mommy liked the name Sophia for Baby-A and Daddy liked Stephanie for Baby-B.

So we still do not know who will be the first one to be born. We will make sure Daddy takes notes during the delivery so he can clarify this in the near future.

What our Doctors know for sure is that Baby-A has been on the right side of Mommy's belly all the time and Baby-B on the left side.

Bueno.... A Mama le gusto el nombre de Sophia para la Bebe-A y a Papa le gusto el nombre de Stephanie para la Bebe-B.

Asi que aun no sabemos quien sera la primera en nacer. Nos aseguraremos de que papa tome notas durante nuestro nacimiento para que posteriormente nos aclare todo esto.

Lo que nuestros Doctores saben a ciencia cierta es que: Bebe-A esta en el lado derecho  del vientre de Mama y Bebe-B esta en lado izquierdo.

Our Room / Nuestra recamara

Today Mommy and Grandma, arranged our room so that it will be ready for our arrival.

Hoy Mama y nuestra Abuelita arreglaron nuestra recamara para que este lista para nuestra llegada.

Everything smooth

OK, so it is almost the end of the day and no major event has occurred inside Mommy's belly. We are just chillin!!!

Casi el fin del dia y no hay evento grande dentro de la barriga de Mama.

Call from Dr Z

Today we received a call from Dr Z it looks like they might move the delivery date to Feb 2nd 2010.  They will decide on Monday Feb 1st pending the results of Mom's regular check-up. We'll keep you posted....

Hoy hablaron de la oficina de la Dra Z, posiblemente muevan la fecha de nuestro nacimiento para el dia 2 de Feb 2010. Lo cual sabremos hasta ver los resultados de la revision en el 1ero de Feb 2010. Los mantendremos informados....

Our Specialist

Today we went to see our Doctor that specializes on multiple pregnancies. And he said that we are doing excellent, in fact he told mommy....

You should not be pregnant two weeks from now. It has been a flawless pregnancy so far, sometimes we forget there are two babies in there, and please bring the babies by our office.

You now what that means right? That's right! lookout world here we come.....

 Here is a growth data:
Sophia, 6lbs 8oz. 144 hbpm
Stephanie, 6lbs 7oz. 156 hbpm

Hoy fuimos a ver al especialista en gemelos y dijo que nos encontro en un estado excelente, de hecho le dijo a  Mama...

De aqui en 2 semanas ud ya no debe estar embarazada. Su embarazo hasta este momento no tiene contratiempo alguno, en ocasiones se nos olvida que hay 2 bebes ahi y por favor visitenos con ellas.

Saben lo que significa, verdad? Correcto! Que se cuide el mundo, que ya mero llegamos....

Week 32

Today we went to Dr. Goldaber’s office (our twins specialist) and he said that we are still doing great and that our weights are:
Sophia 4 lbs 13 oz
Stephanie 4 lbs 7 oz

And guess what..? He played again the jima jima song that we have started to dislike by now.
He will see us again in two weeks.

Hoy fuimos a visitar al Dr. Goldaber (nuestro especialista en gemelos) y comento que seguimos por muy buen camino; nuestros pesos son:

Sophia 4 lbs 13 oz
Stephanie 4 lbs 7 oz

Y saben que..? nos puso la cancion del Jima Jima de nuevo, pero como que ya esta aburriendo. El Doc nos vera de nuevo en dos semanas.

Breaking News

Dr Z. said that we have made a huge breakthrough.... she did a sonogram and found that we have started to exercise what will soon be breathing.

It was so fun to see our rib-cage moving up and down just like it will be when we are breathing real oxygen (not just internal gas from mom... for all we know she could have a bad case of gas... ha ha ha).

Just kidding she has kept beans out of her diet for quite some time now, so there is no gas in here; even though dad says she farts allot mostly at night and her only reply is.... ahhhh “I feel so much better after letting that one rip out”.

Then Dad starts turning blue then purple followed by what it seams to be a close call to throwing up, but he is a guy so he is suppose to hold it and ask for a second round, and then say...
“I am not worthy.... I’m not worthy”

La Dr Z dijo que hoy logramos una gran hazaña, durante el sonograma vio nuestra caja toraxica moverse, dijo que ya estamos ejercitando lo que muy pronto sera respirar....

Fue tan divertido ver las costillas moverse justo como lo haremos cuando respiremos aire puro (no puro gas intestinal de mama... quien sabe y talvez tenga problemas de flatulencias jajaja).

Es broma, ella casi no come frijoles, asi que no hay muchos gases aqui; aunque papa dice que se pedorrea bastante, especialmente en las noches y como excusa dice.... "Ese es el que no me dejaba acomodarme"

Despues papa empieza a ponerse azul, casi morado y a veces por poco depone, pero es hombre y que se aguante, es mas, que pida otra tanda y que despues diga "No soy digno... No soy digno".

Week 30th

Sonogram

Today we went to see our Twin Specialist Doctor, and he said that we are growing pretty good. He said that our weights are:
Baby A: 3lbs 10oz
Baby B: 3lbs 15oz

He also said, that our heart beats per minute (HPM) are normal.
There is no Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) that some times happens when two identical twins (like in our case) share the same placenta, then one starts stealing nutrients from the other, resulting in one twin growing way more than the other one, sometimes even causing death, but we are cool with each other, so we are sharing nutrients equally (how cool are we).
Also, our Doctor played a Christmas song for US. (that is the least that guy could do for us since he charges like $350.00 per visit at least) hahahaha.

Hoy fuimos a ver al Especialista en Gemelos y comento que estabamos creciendo muy bien. Nuestros pesos son:
Baby A: 3lbs 10oz
Baby B: 3lbs 15oz
Dijo tambien que nuestros latidos del corazon por minuto estan dentro de lo normal. Y que no hay sintomas del Sindrome de Transferencia de Gemelo a Gemelo; lo cual en ocasiones sucede cuando dos gemelos identicos (como nuestro caso) comparten la misma placenta, donde uno le roba los nutrientes al otro, resultando en un crecimiento acelerado para uno de ellos y a veces lleva a la muerte al otro; pero nosotros la llevamos tranquila y compartimos los nutrientes de manera equitativa (quen bien portadas, no).
Tambien nuestro Doc, nos puso una  melodia navideña (y no era de esperarse algo menor, dado que cobra al menos $350.00 cada vez que nos ve). jajajaja

Our Cribs repainted

So it turns out the we have two cribs.... but Mom does not like the color of them, so she had Dad re-finish them.

After hours of sanding and clearing dust in the garage; Dad was able to apply the first coat of Bombay Mahoganey on Sunday Dec 13 at 11:45PM.

The second coat will come on Monday or Tuesday, depending on how the weather allows the coat to dry.

By the way here is one the finished cribs....

Pues resulta que tenemos dos cunas... pero a Mama no le gusta el color de ninguna, entonces puso a papa a que las repintara.

Despues de horas de lijar y desempolvar el garage; papa logro aplicar la primera capa en color Bombay Mahoganey el dia Domingo 13 a 11:45PM.

La segunda capa vendra el Lunes o Martes, todo depende como permita el clima que la capa seque.

Daddy's birthday / Cumpleanos de papa

Today aunt Julieta made a delicious dish called "pozole" that we enjoyed every ounce of it.

Hoy la tia Julieta hizo un delicioso platillo llamado "pozole" el cual disfrutamos cada onza.

Our trip to El Paso / Nuestro viaje a El Paso

It turns out that our parents decided to take us to El Paso, TX. so the rest of the family can see Mommy's belly. On our way there we stopped at uncle Vic and aunt Lucila to spend the night.
The next morning aunt Lucila gave us a very tasty breakfast, that included: Eggs, extra crispy bacon, toast, pan cakes, orange juice and milk.  Awesome!!!

Resulta que nuestros padres decidieron llevarnos a El Paso, TX. para que el resto de la familia viera la barriga de Mama. En nuestro camino paramos en la casa del tio Vic y tia Lucila para pasar ahi la noche.
A la manana siguente la tia Lucila preparo un delicioso desayuno, que incluyo: Huevos, tocino muy doradito, pan tostado, pan cakes, jugo de naranja y leche. Riquisimo!!!

Boys? or Girls?

Today we went to see Dr Goldaber, and he will now be able to determine whether we are boys or girls....

and we are GIRLS!!!!


Hoy fuimos a ver al Doc Goldaber, hoy podra determinar si somos niñas o niños.....

y somos NIÑAS!!!!

Cowboys Stadium

Today Mom and cousin Erika took an inside tour of the new Dallas Cowboys stadium. You can hardly notice any belly at all on mommy.

Hoy Mama y la tia Erika tomaron un paseo con guia dentro del estadio de los Vaqueros de Dallas. Apenas si se le nota algo de panza a mama.

Today was the first time Dr Goldaber (pregnancy twins specialist) saw us at his office and his fancy sonogram machines. And he managed to find a song that somewhat matches Mom's name, and he played it over and over and over....

Hoy fue la primera vez que el Dr Goldaber (especialista en gemelos) nos vio por primera vez y sus maquinas de sonograma. El de alguna manera encontro una cancion donde mas o menos dice el nombre de Mama, y la toco una y otra vez....

Second Sonogram

Ok, so mom is having her second sonogram. According to the Doc, they want to keep a close eye on our growth and development.

They want to make sure we stay on the path we are suppose to stay on, and she said, "everything looks ok"

A mama le estan haciendo su segundo sonograma. De acuerdo con la Doctora, quieren observar muy de cerca nuestro crecimiento y desarrollo.


Se quieren asegurar que vayamos por el camino correcto, y comentaron que todo se ve bien.


 

Surprise

Since computers are all over the house and Dad likes them so much....
We decided to behave like a computer virus and “replicate”, without even a warning..

Dado a que las computadoras estan por todos lados aqui en la casa y a papa le gustan mucho.... nosotros decidimos comportarnos como virus de computadora y nos "duplicamos" sin decir agua va...

Hello World !

Believe it or not we are on our way to meet you somewhere in the near future. It turns out that Mom and Dad just received news that there is not just one, but two muffins in the oven....

You should have seen Mom & Dad face !!! hahahaha

Lo creean o no, estamos en camino a conocerlos en un futuro no muy lejano. Da la casualidad de que a Mama y Papa les acaban de informar que no es uno, si no dos panecitos en el cocedor.


Ojala y les pudieran ver la cara de asombro que tenian, jajajaja
